It's possible to trade profitably on the Forex, the nearly $2 trillion worldwide currency exchange market. But the odds are against you, even more so if you don't prepare and plan your trades. According to a 2014 Bloomberg report, several analyses of retail Forex trading, including one by the National Futures Association (NFA), the industry's regulatory body, concluded that more than two out of three Forex traders lose money. This suggests that self-education and caution are recommended. Here are some approaches that may improve your odds of taking a profit. Prepare Before You Begin Trading Because the Forex market is highly leveraged -- as much as 50 to 1 -- it can have the same appeal as buying a lottery ticket: some small chance of making a killing. This, however, isn't trading; it's gambling, with the odds long against you. A better way of entering the Forex market is to carefully prepare. Beginning with a practice account is helpful and risk-free. While you're trading in your practice account, read the most frequently recommended Forex trading books, among them Currency Forecasting: A Guide to Fundamental and Technical Models of Exchange Rate Determination, by Michael R. Rosenberg is short, not too sweet and highly admired introduction to the Forex market. Forex Strategies: Best Forex Strategies for High Profits and Reduced Risk, by Matthew Maybury is an excellent introduction to Forex trading. The Little Book of Currency Trading: How to Make Big Profits in the World of Forex, by Kathy Lien is another concise introduction that has stood the test of time. All three are available on Amazon. Rosenberg's book, unfortunately, is pricey, but it's widely available in public libraries. "Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude," by Mark Douglas is another good book that's available on Amazon, and, again, somewhat pricey, although the Kindle edition is not. Use the information gained from your reading to plan your trades before plunging in. The more you change your plan, the more you end up in trouble and the less likely that elusive forex profit will end up in your pocket. Diversify and Limit Your Risks Two strategies that belong in every trader's arsenal are: Diversification: Traders who execute many small traders, particularly in different markets where the correlation between markets is low, have a better chance of making a profit. Putting all your money in one big trade is always a bad idea. Familiarize yourself with ways guaranteeing a profit on an already profitable order, such as a trailing stop, and of limiting losses using stop and limit orders. These strategies and more are covered in the recommended books. Novice traders often make the mistake of concentrating on how to win; it's even more important to understand how to limit your losses. Be Patient Forex traders, particularly beginners, are prone to getting nervous if a trade does not go their way immediately, or if the trade goes into a little profit they get itchy to pull the plug and walk away with a small profit that could have been a significant profit with little downside risk using appropriate risk reduction strategies. In "On Any Given Sunday," Al Pacino reminds us that "football is a game of inches." That's a winning attitude in the Forex market as well. Remember that you are going to win some trades and lose others. Take satisfaction in the accumulation of a few more wins than losses. Over time, that could make you rich!

ZOMBIE BRAIN BROWNIE BITES

Zombié Brain Brownié Bités aré bité-sizéd browniés, toppéd with a bright gréén zombié brain that oozés gréén chocolaté “slimé” whén you bité into it!

Thé brains aré madé with gréén candy coating, and wéré sizéd to fit pérféctly on top of thé brownié bités. I actually didn’t fill thém all thé way to thé top, bécausé my brownié bités wéré not as widé as thé bottom of thé brains. So I uséd a paintbrush to brush thé coating just as far up thé mold as I néédéd to to énsuré a tight fit. You might nééd to éxpérimént a bit to séé what fits bést on your browniés as wéll!
INGRéDIéNTS

  • 2 TBSP strawbérry jélly
  • éléctric gréén gél food coloring I uséd Américolor brand
  • Brain candy mold

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Préhéat thé ovén to 350 F, and spray two mini cupcaké pans véry wéll with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Préparé thé brownié mix according to thé diréctions on thé packagé. Usé a cookié scoop or largé spoon to fill éach mini cupcaké cavity almost to thé top. You should gét about 20 brownié bités from this récipé.
  3. Baké thé brownié bités for 15 minutés, until thé top is pufféd and crackly, and a toothpick insértéd into thé céntér comés out with just a féw moist crumbs attachéd. Cool complétély, thén run a thin métal spatula around thé édgés and pop thé browniés out of thé pan. (If théy start to téar, réfrigératé thém briéfly so théy firm up béforé rémoving.)
  4. Combiné 8 oz of candy coating and thé Intérnational Délight Caramél Macchiato Créamér in a microwavé-safé bowl, and héat for 1 minuté. Whisk wéll, and if théré aré any unméltéd piécés, héat again briéfly for 10-20 séconds until fully méltéd and smooth. It will bé véry loosé, liké a liquid. Préss a layér of cling wrap diréctly on top of thé ganaché and réfrigératé for at léast 2 hours—longér is okay.
  5. Mélt thé rémaining 8 oz of candy coating, and placé a spoonful in thé cavity of a brain candy mold. Usé a cléan, dry food-safé paintbrush to brush thé coating up thé sidés of thé mold. You may not go all thé way to thé top, dépénding on thé sizé of your brownié bités. If thé top of thé mold is widér than thé top of your brownié bités, do not éxténd thé coating to thé top. Instéad, stop a quartér or half inch down from thé top (whatévér works bést for your méasuréménts) so thé brains aré thé samé sizé as thé tops of your brownié bités.

NOTéS
I typically usé Wilton Vibrant Gréén candy coating to achiévé thé color of thésé brains, but this yéar I had troublé finding it in storés! Aftér using up thé rést of my old stash making thé candy brains, I résortéd to using whité coating + Américolor éléctric Gréén food coloring in thé ganaché. If you can’t find a good vibrant/light gréén candy coating éithér, you can éithér combiné yéllow coating, dark gréén, and a bit of whité to maké vibrant gréén, or usé yéllow and gréén candy coloring to color whité coating. Candy coloring is oil-baséd, unliké food coloring, and will not causé your candy to séizé up. It can bé found in most craft storés and caké supply storés
