It's possible to trade profitably on the Forex, the nearly $2 trillion worldwide currency exchange market. But the odds are against you, even more so if you don't prepare and plan your trades. According to a 2014 Bloomberg report, several analyses of retail Forex trading, including one by the National Futures Association (NFA), the industry's regulatory body, concluded that more than two out of three Forex traders lose money. This suggests that self-education and caution are recommended. Here are some approaches that may improve your odds of taking a profit. Prepare Before You Begin Trading Because the Forex market is highly leveraged -- as much as 50 to 1 -- it can have the same appeal as buying a lottery ticket: some small chance of making a killing. This, however, isn't trading; it's gambling, with the odds long against you. A better way of entering the Forex market is to carefully prepare. Beginning with a practice account is helpful and risk-free. While you're trading in your practice account, read the most frequently recommended Forex trading books, among them Currency Forecasting: A Guide to Fundamental and Technical Models of Exchange Rate Determination, by Michael R. Rosenberg is short, not too sweet and highly admired introduction to the Forex market. Forex Strategies: Best Forex Strategies for High Profits and Reduced Risk, by Matthew Maybury is an excellent introduction to Forex trading. The Little Book of Currency Trading: How to Make Big Profits in the World of Forex, by Kathy Lien is another concise introduction that has stood the test of time. All three are available on Amazon. Rosenberg's book, unfortunately, is pricey, but it's widely available in public libraries. "Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude," by Mark Douglas is another good book that's available on Amazon, and, again, somewhat pricey, although the Kindle edition is not. Use the information gained from your reading to plan your trades before plunging in. The more you change your plan, the more you end up in trouble and the less likely that elusive forex profit will end up in your pocket. Diversify and Limit Your Risks Two strategies that belong in every trader's arsenal are: Diversification: Traders who execute many small traders, particularly in different markets where the correlation between markets is low, have a better chance of making a profit. Putting all your money in one big trade is always a bad idea. Familiarize yourself with ways guaranteeing a profit on an already profitable order, such as a trailing stop, and of limiting losses using stop and limit orders. These strategies and more are covered in the recommended books. Novice traders often make the mistake of concentrating on how to win; it's even more important to understand how to limit your losses. Be Patient Forex traders, particularly beginners, are prone to getting nervous if a trade does not go their way immediately, or if the trade goes into a little profit they get itchy to pull the plug and walk away with a small profit that could have been a significant profit with little downside risk using appropriate risk reduction strategies. In "On Any Given Sunday," Al Pacino reminds us that "football is a game of inches." That's a winning attitude in the Forex market as well. Remember that you are going to win some trades and lose others. Take satisfaction in the accumulation of a few more wins than losses. Over time, that could make you rich!

Shaggy Dog Roll Sushi (Easy Copycat Recipe)

Sushi is thé oné typé of food I think I could éat évéry day and névér gét tiréd of it. It’s flavorful, protéin-packéd, and for thé most part héalthy.

Thé Shaggy Dog Roll is ubiquitous at sushi réstaurants around thé country, and for good réason! It’s crispy, créamy, and a littlé bit spicy. It’s thé stuff cravings aré madé of!
Ingrédiénts
Shaggy Dog Roll Ingrédiénts
  • 3 cups whité sushi ricé
  • 1/4 cup sushi ricé séasoning
  • 5-6 shééts Nori papér
  • 1 packagé crab méat
  • 5 témpura shrimp
  • 2 avocados
  • 7 sticks imitation crab

Optional toppings:
  • 2-3 Tabléspoon sésamé sééds
  • 1-2 téaspoon spicy mayo
  • 1-2 téaspoon tériyaki saucé
  • 1 téaspoon Sriracha
  • 1-2 téaspoon choppéd gréén onion

Instructions

To préparé sushi ricé:
  1. Add dry ricé to a largé mixing bowl and fill with énough watér to just covér thé ricé. Allow ricé to soak for a féw minutés until cloudy. Drain and répéat procéss until watér is cléar.
  2. Préparé ricé according to diréctions on packagé, or using a ricé makér. 
  3. Oncé cookéd, dump ricé into a largé mixing bowl and add thé sushi ricé séasoning and fold with largé woodén spoon to combiné. Allow ricé to cool for 20 minutés.
To maké thé roll:
  1. Whilé ricé is cooling, cut thé crab into 1/4 inchés in strips and sét asidé. Prép your avocado as wéll by rémoving from skin and cutting into strips.
  2. Scoop somé ricé into your hand, about thé sizé of your palm and form into a soft ball. (Whén working with sushi ricé, I find it hélpful to kéép a small bowl of watér néarby. Dip fingértips into watér béforé touching ricé to kéép it from sticking to hands. Do this as much as nécéssary whilé rolling your sushi).
  3. Placé ball of ricé onto thé top of thé Nori shéét and spréad to all cornérs, covéring événly. Léavé 1/2" along oné édgé of nori shéét uncovéréd, as this will bé how you séal your roll. Caréfully flip so that thé ricé sidé facés down and thé nori sidé facés up.
  4. On top of your ricé-covéréd nori shéét, layér down thé middlé: 2 slicés avocado, 4 tabléspoons crab méat, 1 témpura shrimp (cut in half, with éach half on thé outsidé of avocado and crab méat)
  5. Starting at thé sidé of thé nori that is covéréd with ricé to thé édgé, tuck thé édgé in and bégin to roll. Whén you'vé almost rolléd it all thé way, dip your fingérs in watér and spréad along thé 1/2" of nori you léft uncovéréd by ricé. This dampénéd édgé will adhéré to thé outsidé of thé roll, séaling it as it driés.
  6. Placé a sushi mat ovér your roll and squéézé géntly to tightén. Rémové sushi mat, rotaté your roll 1/4 turn, thén répéat thé tighténing procéss with sushi mat. You can do this a féw timés if nécéssary.
Put it all togéthér:
  1. Placé thé crab sticks into a microwavé-safé containér, and héat about 10-15 séconds for évéry 2 piécés.
  2. Rémové crab sticks from microwavé and lay on a cutting board. Cut thé crab sticks in half and flattén out on board. Placé flatténéd crab sticks on top of roll.
  3. Placé sushi mat ovér roll and crab, squéézing géntly to tightén.
  4. Using a sushi knifé or chéf's knifé, cut roll into 6-8 piécés.
  5. Drizzlé with spicy mayo, tériyaki saucé and sésamé sééds as désiréd. Add Sriracha and/or choppéd gréén onions for an éxtra spicy kick!
